You are are exactly the kind of blindly rule following, petty power hungry egotistical deletionist that is ruining what used to be the useful resource that was Wikipedia. Hi! Di you have a digital camera? If so, would you mind photographing the AMR Corporation headquarters in Fort Worth? More photo requests[edit]

When you have the time, would you mind trying to fulfill these requests (if a building with a logo is not available, try to get the front entrances/gates with the company logo)?

In addition would you be willing to fulfill requests for Preston Hollow, Dallas or Vickery Meadow, Dallas so the neighborhoods have photographs? Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 16:05, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I used to work up there so know exactly where to go. EDS, JCP and Dr P I think all have good logo/HQ possibilities not so sure of the rest. I'll be right up there anyway in next week or so for a dental appt. You hacking my calendar? J/K. The neighborhoods I'll look into as well. No problem. I added a photo of DART Orange Line construction to that article. I'll probably take a "Green Line" photo as I pass it as well on the way home from work. I live within blocks of Liberty Junior High School and Lloyd V. Berkner High School within RISD so will probably start with pictures of those schools. Sure, Vickery Meadow might be featured article candidates, but they are far more out of the way. Still, I'll keep them in mind but it will likely be September before I have time. Are you playing by your own rules?[edit]

You've reverted my edits on the .40 S&W section without providing contrary sources or first discussing what you specifically object to in my citations. Yet on the 9x19mm discussion page, several of your quotes make points that contradict your actions on the .40 S&W article.Michael Courtney (talk) 09:00, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]



Michael, you'll have to do a better job explaining how these quotes illustrate your point. The information you are referring to is in reference to whether or not 'nine' was considered a pop-culture reference that was Notable enough to be included. By that same argument, I would suggest that research by a single family of scientists (Courtney's) may be notable in a hydrostatic shock article, but not within each and every caliber of ammunition studied. I appreciate your taking the time to think about my comments and welcome further discussion. Please try to understand why NPOV and COI may be concerns of mine. So you have no problem mentioning hydrostatic shock in the .40 S&W article if it is supported by references beyond "a single family of scientists"? Hydrostatic shock and remote pressure wave effects have been documented by a number of sources both in handgun performance in general and with respect to the .40 S&W. Since the POV is well suppored in reliable sources, NPOV is only an issue if reliable sources with the contrary viewpoint are purposefully excluded. If you are aware of reliable sources with contrary views, you are certainly welcome to add them.Michael Courtney (talk) 02:39, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That is not the point I am making. Hydrostatic shock is not a mainstream topic associated with any particular caliber of firearm. In my opinion it would be more appropriate to link to an article on firearms wounding effects and including the link to hydrostatic shock within that article. Please understand I am trying to prevent WP:CITESPAM -- I'm not discrediting your well-sourced research. I'm just saying that you may have a COI in adding your own citations to articles, particularly without using inline quotations specific to articles such as 0.40 S&W, and what appeared to be a list of firearm calibers that had not yet been modified within your Userspace webpages. This article was just created, but it was budded off from Political positions of Barack Obama. The long-standing consensus is that the article should only outline policies and stated positions, not editorial positions or reactions (for or against) those policies. The addition you made was not in keeping with those guidelines.
