Steven Yates[edit]

Steve Yates is an Idaho politician who is currently seeking the Republican Party nomination for Lieutenant Governor of Idaho. He is a native of Maryland. Yates served from 2014 - 2017 as Chairman of the Idaho State Republican Central Committee. Due to his position as Chairman in the Idaho State Republican Party, he also served as a member of the Republican National Committee.

Yates currently serves as a professor of practice at Boise State University in both international business and politics. [1]

Yates is a frequent contributor for CNN and Fox News regarding East Asian affairs and trade. Yates also served as executive director of DC International Advisory, a global advisory firm and consulting firm. [2] Before his consulting and teaching career Yates served as a foreign policy adviser to Vice President Dick Cheney. [3]

Ron Nate[edit]

Following the May, 2016 Republican Primary, where Nate was narrowly re-nominated by Republicans, Rep. Nate reportedly recorded a meeting between himself and Idaho Senate Pro Tem Brent Hill. Hill had supported Nate's opponent in the primary. The secret recording of Hill by Nate garnered criticism from Idaho State House Speaker Scott Bedke who said, "People, including legislators, don’t like sneakiness …It’s destructive and on most levels dishonest.” Idaho House Majority Leader Rep. Mike Moyle concurred with Bedke, "“Being a legislator is like being in a marriage,” he said. “If you lose trust it’s over. Moyle added, “You still have to have that trust, and without that trust you become very ineffective. So if the allegations are true, I have concerns that people will be unlikely to trust a legislator who is in some way secretly recording conversations.” [7]

There has been some speculation that Nate has active ties to the John Birch Society. [8] Rep. Nate has also been praised by the Libertarian leaning Idaho Freedom Foundation for his activism and voting record. [9]

Hello, Sydney Rigdon. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
