We're so glad you're here!

  • Hello, and welcome. :) Really nice edit to Deep Ellum, I swear I stared at that sentence for five minutes trying to figure out what it needed. Thanks! :^D Eaglizard 13:05, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock[edit]

We lease our IP block from The Planet, but we are not responsible for, nor can we alter the policies of The Planet. It seems somewhat overkill to block my account because of something my upstream provider is doing or not doing. {unblock-auto|1=70.85.4.22|2=open proxy - web hosting company ThePlanet.com|3=Dmcdevit}}

I've changed the block of ThePlanet.com to an anon-only block, so you should be able to edit when you're logged in. Mangojuicetalk 13:19, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock, again[edit]

Once again, an entire ISP has been blocked. We are not The Planet, we simply lease our IP block from The Planet. It is unreasonable to block us on these grounds.

checkY

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Autoblock of 70.85.4.22 lifted or expired.

Request handled by: The Evil Spartan 16:07, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's a range block, I'm not exactly sure what incidents prompted this, but I'll talk to the blocking admin about a softblock.--Isotope23 20:14, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • In all due respect to Ryulong, it's a poor range block. He's placed up a good deal of range blocks to theplanet.com, claiming that they're all open proxies. They're not. We've already seen a lot of people request unblock with those addresses. The Evil Spartan 15:48, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • For now, I have changed the parameters of the block to only prevent anonymous editing. - Mike Rosoft 15:55, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Sapphira-and-the-slave-girl-cover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Sapphira-and-the-slave-girl-cover.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 02:05, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Hermit of Eyton Forest requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. →GƒoleyFour← 00:32, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Speedy at The Hermit of Eyton Forest[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from The Hermit of Eyton Forest, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 00:34, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:O-pioneers-cover.png[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:O-pioneers-cover.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Hastur Lord, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: The Hastur Lord. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. MadmanBot (talk) 22:27, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"The Hastur Lord" is the wrong title. "Hastur Lord" is the correct title. I have marked "The Hastur Lord" for deletion, but can do no more than that.Symphony Girl (talk) 22:30, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

July 2013[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Darkover series may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s and 1 "[]"s likely mistaking one for another. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • * ''[[Thunderlord!]]'' (not yet released, sequel to Stormqueen!]

Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 14:59, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Zimmer Bradley edits[edit]

Hi there! I recently came across some of your edits to Marion Zimmer Bradley's Darkover series, and was impressed. Her articles are in serious need of clean-up/expansion. I recently brought The Firebrand to GA and have been trying to improve her Avalon series. I'm not sure if you've read any of those, but I'd love your help if you have! (I have not yet read any of her Darkover novels, alas, otherwise I could be more help there). Anyways, keep up the good work! We need more editors like you, editing literature articles! Ways to improve The Shadow Matrix[edit]

Hi, I'm Sulfurboy. Symphony Girl, thanks for creating The Shadow Matrix!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. 1

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Sulfurboy (talk) 18:44, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 18[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited James Jamieson (dancer), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Wilmington (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Stewart Ferguson, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Garden City. File permission problem with File:Andrew litton 2004.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Andrew litton 2004.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 14:14, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
