Dear administrators

I learn about the 'sock puppets' yesterday. So I got to know what I did wrong. First or all, I wanna apologize on having violate the rules of Wiki. We(2 doosan employees) have been trying to upload article on Doosan Group. One of us is I(truism77) and the other is 'popcorn2u...(he's also Doosan employee).

I'm in Doosan Group PR Team, and I provieded the article of Doosan from 'Doosan Annual Report whose copyright belongs to Doosan. But both of us didn't know the contents could make problems, and we didn't understand your message thoroughly because of the language problem.

I got to know that 'popcorn2u...' did change I.P and username. I think it' all because he wanna upload the article. He's not trying to gather attention of other Wiki users like sock puppets.

We totally admit that we made a mistake and din't follow your rules. But I want you to know it's because we didn't understand your messages well and didn't know the way of joinning Wiki users. Strictly speaking, I(truism77) din't use multiple I.P and username.

From now on, We swear that we will not use multiple I.P and username, and will follw the copyright policy.

And I wanna tell you the I.P you blocked is being used by over 10,000 Doosan employees. That means over 10,000 Doosan employees cannot joing Wikipedia.

So, I beg your favor and wanna join Wiki as soon as possible.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely, truism77.

Welcome :-) I will ask to remove the block. Gazpacho 10:21, 3 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I really really appreciate you. Good luck to you Gazpacho! - truism77

If you are able to clarify that the material uploaded to the Doosan article has been released under the GFDL or a compatible license, rather than an ordinary copyright, then the deletion can be reversed, and the merits of the article be judged apart from its source. Material on Wikipedia cannot be copyrighted ordinarily. jnothman talk 13:21, 3 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear jnothman I don't know much about GFDL. So I don't know how to clarify that the material uploaded to the Doosan article has been released under the GFDL. But the material is written by myself based on my knowledge and information on Doosan Group. The business accomplishments of Doosan cited in the article are gathered while I'm working in Doosan Group PR Team. And Korean Wiwipedia has allowed to show my article on 'Doosan' page. So the article can be used and spreaded freely. Do I understand the concept of GFDL? Please help me and give advices to me. Thank you.

Essentially if the copyright holder (whether that be you, or Doosan) permits that the text you submit and any (commercial or non-commercial) derived works may be distributed freely, then you can give GFDL perrmission. In particular, what you need to do is stated at Wikipedia:Copyright problems:
  • Make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL at the site of the original publication[1].
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions at wikimedia dot org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation.
Nonetheless, whatever is posted will get rewritten. Indeed, if you write the same material with different words at Doosan Group, that will be fine. jnothman talk 00:55, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear jnothman

Thank you very much for your kind help.

I send an email to board@wikimedia.org from my 'Doosan adress(truism@doosan.com)'.

I wanna clear up the misunderstanding. But I'm not sure that i did rihgt.

Our I.P is still blocked and we cannot create an article on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doosan_group

I afraid I'm bothering you, but help the poor WiKi stranger.

Thank you very much!

<Below is the email I sent to Wikimedia Foundation>

Dear Wikimedia Foundation I'm working in Doosan Group(a Korean company) PR Team. A few weeks ago we(Doosan) create pages on Doosan on Wikipedia but there had been a copyright problem. We uploaded contents on Doosan with sources from 'Doosan Annual Report' whose copyright is owned by us(Doosan PR TEAM). So we didn't think that it would make a problem. But the problem is the there's no note about 'free reuse of the text' on the original source(Doosan Annual Report). So we made a note "Reusing text of 2005 Doosan Annual Report permitted under GFDL." in the end of the original source(Doosan Annual Report). Please review http://www.doosan.com/english/main/english.pdf. Our IP is blocked now, so we cannot join Wikipedia anymore with that IP. Our IP is used by over 10,000 Doosan employees, that means they cannot join Wikipedia either. Please clear up misunderstandings and let us join Wikipedia, give an information on Doosan Group(Korean Top 10~12 company) and share oppinions with other users.

'Doosan related pages in wikipedia are - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doosan - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doosan_Group - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doosan_group

Please review these pages.

IP block[edit]

Is the address still blocked? Do you know the IP address number?

Still blocked[edit]

Yes, still blocked. I got message "Your IP address is 203.226.142.22. Please include this address, along with your username (if you are a registered user), in any queries you make." Thank you for your kindness Truism77 02:44, 5 January 2006 (UTC) truism77[reply]

I can't find your username or that IP anywhere on the block log back to 17 November. But I'm not particularly experienced with blocking. jnothman talk 03:14, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please unblock...[edit]

Everytime I try to edit any page except for 'my talk', below message shows up. It says my IP address autoblocked because my IP address has been recently used by "Doosan". "Doosan" was one of Doosan employees I know, and I think we use the same IP address(Many employees use the same IP). So I emailed to Hedley who blocked my IP and the other administrators to clear up misunderstandings and ask to unblock but there has been no answer. What should I do to unblock my IP? Please tell me...

Thanks: although a mess, that clarified that the user that was blocked was Doosan. Hence I could unblock that. Yes, I do not think Doosan should have been blocked indefinitely, and the administrator who did so was probably overreacting when the appropriate response was to discuss the situation. Now, please still be careful with what you do around here. That is, assuming your block is now removed. jnothman talk 04:51, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much[edit]

I really appreciate you, jnothman and Gazpacho. I think I learned a lot about Wikipedia. I'm afraid that we made a mess although we didn't mean it. I'll be more careful from now on. Sincerely, Truism77 08:49, 5 January 2006 (UTC)truism77[reply]

Proposed deletion of Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction[edit]

The article Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (companies) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back. Thank you,

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
