Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on David Lale (British cellist), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because David Lale (British cellist) seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting David Lale (British cellist), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. David Lale[edit]

Hello - I have restored the text of this article to User:Untrammelled/Lale. The problem with the article was that it did not assert any notability (see WP:BIO) - all it really did was say "David Lale is a cellist" without explaining why he was an important or noteworthy cellist. For example "plays regularly with a number of orchestras..." - which ones? Are they important orchestras? this could define notability. Also, more sources (press, etc.) about him would be useful. Hello Black Kite. I am still not sure of the correct method of replying to your message. I have placed a copy of my reply below. Please excuse any duplication. --Untrammelled (talk) 07:36, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the feedback and for restoring the text of this article to User:Untrammelled/Lale. I have modified the text to include two named major UK orchestras and references to concert diaries and a newspaper article which confirm a couple of performances as soloist.
I hope that this is enough to make the article acceptable. Regards, --Untrammelled (talk) 10:35, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated Douglas Cummings, an article that you created, for deletion. They apparently do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Douglas Cummings. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message.

It wasn't me, but another editor . Very foolish nomination for deletion of course, and I've said so at the AfD. It will help for articles on classical musicians if you provide as much documentation as possible, including especially published reviews of their performances. This is one of the subjects where some of the people contributing to WP seem to have have a prejudice, and we who understand must work extra hard to overcome it.
