Image:AC E1(AWM P03498.010).jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:Image:Image-AC E1(AWM P03498.010).jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[Image:Image-AC E1(AWM P03498.010).jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 07:50, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sentinel tank[edit]

Thanks for adding that photo - it's very useful. Nick-D (talk) 23:36, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, I thought the article could use a decent image of 1 of the survivors Ways (talk) 07:02, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:Australian 1958 threepence.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Invitation to join MILHIST[edit]

Australian Shermans[edit]

Australia received fewer than 10 of them, just for trials. They decided that the Churchill was more suitable for low-speed jungle use. Supposedly this was because of a better steering gearbox, with much better neutral turns on the spot. Also in some reports because the M4s were fitted with the wrong tracks (mud-chewing all steel with a raised grouser, not the flat rubber pad type).

So there were some in Australia. But as they didn't see service, I'd agree with your removal here. Andy Dingley (talk) 17:27, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, I'm aware of the three that were trialled against the Chuchill, what I'm not sure of is that somewhere at some time some M4s might have been borrowed in much the same way as the M108s and a couple of M48s with mine rollers were in Vietnam. Ways (talk) 05:25, 29 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Request for citation - Tanks in the Australian Army[edit]

G'day. I've requested a citation [1] for the material you added on the Australian experimental light tank to the Tanks in the Australian Army. I've skimmed through my copies of Beale and Hopkins and couldn't find anything but I may have missed it. Thanks. Anotherclown (talk) 00:38, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't add it, I only moved it from the middle of bit about the Australian Cruisers, where it kind of messed up to flow of the text, to the end of the paragraph. Ways (talk) 02:46, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ok no worries, I can see that now. All the best. Anotherclown (talk) 04:16, 27 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
