Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 22:36, 7 March 2023 (UTC)

Undoing disruptive editing

On Monday, you reverted disruptive editing on the Ford Fischer page. The apparent act of vandalism repeated again, which was again reverted, and then yesterday, they did it again. This has yet to be reverted.

Ok, no problem. Reverted. =) Shadow of the Starlit Sky (talk) 18:08, 15 March 2023 (UTC)

Hello and welcome to the March 2023 newsletter, a quarterly digest of Guild activities since December and our Annual Report for 2022. Don't forget you can unsubscribe at any time; see below. We extend a warm welcome to all of our new members, including those who have signed up for our current March Backlog Elimination Drive. We wish you all happy copy-editing.

Election results: In our December 2022 coordinator election, Reidgreg and Tenryuu stepped down as coordinators; we thank them for their service. Incumbents Baffle gab1978, Dhtwiki, Miniapolis and Zippybonzo were returned as coordinators until 1 July. For the second time, no lead coordinator was chosen. Nominations for our mid-year Election of Coordinators open on 1 June (UTC).

Drive: 21 editors signed up for our January Backlog Elimination Drive, 14 of whom claimed at least one copy-edit. Between them, they copy-edited 170 articles totaling 389,737 words. Barnstars awarded are here.

Blitz: Our February Copy Editing Blitz focused on October and November 2022 requests, and the March and April 2022 backlogs. Of the 14 editors who signed up, nine claimed at least one copy-edit; and between them, they copy-edited 39,150 words in 22 articles. Barnstars awarded are here.

Progress report: As of 12:08, 19 March 2023 (UTC), GOCE copyeditors have processed 73 requests since 1 January 2023, all but five of them from 2022, and the backlog stands at 1,872 articles.

Thank you all again for your participation; we wouldn't be able to achieve what we have without you! Cheers from your GOCE coordinators Baffle gab1978, Dhtwiki, Miniapolis and Zippybonzo.

Disambiguation link notification for March 21

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of Fear the Walking Dead characters, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Frigga, Tony Leung and Don Lee. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:07, 21 March 2023 (UTC)

Question

Hi, you said: some of your comments to Cukrakalnis seem to be incivil. Again, it is COMPLETELY FINE to disagree with Cukrakalnis' views, but it's not fine to insult Cukrakalnis about it, can you give me some examples of these "insults"? Marcelus (talk) 19:28, 28 March 2023 (UTC)

These phrases could be considered "personal attacks" towards Cukrakalnis:
1. This is a shameful attempt at watering down criticims of ZZ nationalist writings. I will revert any change that will touch this topic. (20:59, 11 February 2023 (UTC))- Accusing another editor of nationalism isn't always the best things to do. Although I understand your intent behind your statement, I think that you should have been less...... harsh in the wording. Please address the content calmly without accusations of nationalism; accusing editors of POV pushing directly to said editors will only make more conflicts.
2. If you misrepresent WP:EU again, I will assume that you are simply acting in bad faith. (14:31, 21 February 2023 (UTC)) Don't accuse editors of bad faith in content-based disputes; address the content, not the editors. Only assume bad faith when there is obvious trolling or vandalism involved (e.g. adding "Shadow of the Starlit Sky is amazing" in the middle of an article for no reason at all), period.
-- Shadow of the Starlit Sky 11:46, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
Ok thanks, I can see how the wording can be problematic. But nonetheless these weren't baseless accusations. What's more in the 1st one I didn't accuse him of nationalism, but of trying to censor criticism of ZZ nationalist activities. Marcelus (talk) 12:43, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
But, an accusation against a user is still an accusation against a user. Next time, try to address the content itself, not the person who wrote it. -- Shadow of the Starlit Sky 12:54, 29 March 2023 (UTC)

Klaipėda

I have removed some of the titles that you added to Klaipėda because they are not ambiguous. Per WP:PARTIAL, disambiguation pages shouldn't include every article containing the term being disambiguated. I kept titles that might be called simply 'Klaipėda', like Klaipėda University, and removed others that wouldn't be easily confused, like Directorate of the Klaipėda Region. I'm happy to discuss any of these changes. Leschnei (talk) 12:14, 30 March 2023 (UTC)

Thank you for informing me. As you can see, I am still a noob when it comes to Wikipedia editing (LOL). I will read through what you sent me when disambiguating pages in the future so I do not make the same mistakes again. -- Shadow of the Starlit Sky 12:17, 30 March 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Seat of the pants

Hello Shadow of the Starlit Sky. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Seat of the pants, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not nonsense - there is meaningful content. Thank you. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 14:37, 30 March 2023 (UTC)
