Wikipedia:Centralized discussion/Sports results

There is a continued controversy among editors as to whether reports of non-championship sporting event results should be the subject of Wikipedia articles. (Reports of championship and equivalent events are, by consensus, notable, and are not controversial.)

A number of articles including reports of individual 2005 English cricket season matches have been nominated in Articles for Deletion over the last few months.

There is no consensus among participants as to the suitability of the articles, with a number of arguments on each side. This centralized discussion is meant to save time and energy and prevent the same argument to be conducted in each article's individual AfD discussion.
