Original – A portrait of Midshipman Augustus Brine, age 13, in 1782. At this time he served on HMS Belliqueux, his father's ship; he was made a rear-admiral in 1837, three years before his death.

Reason

High quality scan of an interesting painting. Augustus Brine, a Royal Navy Officer, is seen here as a midshipman in 1782, when he was but 13.
