Ironclad warships of the Ottoman Empire[edit]

This is another good topic on obscure old warships. These were built by the chronically cash-strapped Ottoman Empire in the 1860s and 1880s, they spent almost no time at sea for the duration of their existences (apart from playing a minor role in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–1878, where one of them was blown up by Russian artillery), and thoroughly decrepit by the early 1900s, the Ottomans used the possibility of large weapons orders from Germany and Italy to get several of the ships rebuilt into vessels that resembled warships (in one case, literally "resembling" - Mesudiye was fitted with dummy wooden guns instead of the intended 9-inch guns). Thanks to all who take the time to review the topic. Parsecboy (talk) 20:20, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This seems comprehensive, and includes all the relevant classes and individual ships. For presentation purposes, it might be better to move the whole Asar-i Şevket class to column two, and move the whole Avnillah class to column three. Seems weird to split classes across columns. Otherwise, looking good. Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 07:23, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
