From where does carrier waves produces?[edit]

Carrier waves doesn't carry much information that we can relate to (such as speech or data). To include speech information or data information, another wave needs to be imposed, called an input signal. From where does carrier waves produces? Rizosome (talk) 02:10, 27 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The carrier wave only carries fixed information- such as amplitude, frequency, phase, polarization or direction. But read modulation to see the many ways it can be changed to carry information. In a way, a pure carrier wave may be compared to a blank sheet of paper. Both can be used as carriers of information. A carrier wave for AM broadcasting can be produced by an electronic oscillator, called a transmitter, that has an oscillation rate in the radio frequency range.  --Lambiam 12:37, 27 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
