Property names[edit]

Indianapolis apartment buildings[edit]

There are 35 or so badly named NRHP properties in Indianapolis. See Talk:National Register of Historic Places listings in Marion County, Indiana#Odd one word names for details and discussion. All should be given more descriptive names, perhaps adding "Apartment Building" or "Flats". doncram (talk) 16:47, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Town names[edit]

Street addresses[edit]

in Shoals, Indiana, is recorded in NRIS as being at "220 Captial Ave.". Probably a typo: "Captial"; Correction: "Capital" in street address field. doncram (talk) 10:10, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Demolished but still listed[edit]

Architects[edit]

  • Lake County Courthouse (Indiana) is listed as having architect or builder = "Multiple". According to the NRHP document for it "J.P. Cochran" was architect for its original/central portion, and Beers & Beers was architect for addition. "Cochran" is how it is spelled in the NRHP document for it, where he is just mentioned once as "J.P. Cochran of Chicago, Illinois". That is pretty clearly a typo in the NRHP document for "Cochrane"; the architect is evidently John P. Cochrane of Chicago, Illinois, born in 1935 or 1933, who also designed one or more other courthouses. --Doncram (talk) 16:36, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
