Eljan Hajiyev (born 29 April 2002) is an Azerbaijani judoka.[1] He won gold at the 2024 European Championships in Zagreb and competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Early life

He took up judo when he was ten years-old.[2]

Career

He won a bronze medal at the 2021 and 2022 World Judo Juniors Championships. He won gold at the 2022 European Junior Judo Championships in Prague in the 81kg category.[3][4]

He won a bronze medal at 2024 Judo Grand Prix Odivelas in January 2024 in the 90kg division.[5] He won a silver medal at the 2024 Judo Grand Slam Paris in the 90kg category.[6] He won a silver medal at the 2024 Judo Grand Slam Tbilisi in March 2024. [7]

He won gold at the 2024 European Judo Championships in Zagreb in April 2024.[8] He won bronze at 2024 Judo Grand Slam Astana in May 2024.[9]

He competed at the 2024 World Judo Championships in Abu Dhabi.[10] He was selected for the 2024 Paris Olympics.[11]
