Oromos[edit]

I do recognize Oromo is both social and geonological grouping but your attempt of including emperor Haile Silassie and those who helped Menilik enslave Oromos is not representative of Oromo; in fact, it is not morally correct. So I have removed these individuals and rather included freedom fighters such as General Tadessee Birru and Hon.Dr. Ali Birra. Jimma Abba Jifar II was very famous among the Oromos and abroad, much better known compared to the likes of Balcha. I have kept Tilahun Gesesse in the list.

Thanks

Not that it even matters, but several of the files in that image are copyrighted. Regarding Haile Selassie, I'm afraid you have your facts wrong. He certainly did not attempt to enslave Oromos since he himself was of course largely of Oromo descent, like his father. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 16:17, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Human,

Thanks.

Yes he was half Oromo, probably even more, because nobody for sure knows who he was actually. However, you have missed the point. I used moral reasoning to disqualify him to be a representative and to be shown on a page about Oromo on wikipedia.Do you know Haile Silassie did in fact more harm to the Oromos than Menilik by legitimizing the repression as a form of policy? Read the book by Mohammed Hassen.

Which file was copyrighted? Ali Birra's image is publicly available and I have already asked him to give me the permission. As to the late General Tadessee Birru's image, it is found on Wikipedia itself and although I dont know Wiki works regarding copyright, I believe we can use what is on Wikipedia or in public domain.
