You Protected The Kingkoil Page from editing

[edit]

The Content Updated on Kingkoil Page is not correct we applied for Kingkoil India page but you mentioned Kingkoil Only and when we submitted the edits you change it to protected plz revert it as we need to update the proper content Director manik singh (talk) 17:02, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Director manik singh: I believe you must be writing about King Koil. Refer to its edit History: [1]. I didn't protect the article. As edits have been made recently to the article by users with a conflict of interest, it has been protected so that only autoconfirmed/confirmed editors are able to edit the article. I assume you also have a conflict of interest, as you appear to be trying to assert ownership over the page on behalf of its subject or a related company. You should discuss your proposed changes on the article's Talk page to see if you can establish a consensus amongst the community of Wikipedia editors for its content. Geoff | Who, me? 17:29, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am not trying to assert the ownership of the page , I am sharing the actual details of the company as also the company is purchased by AI Dream

If you think these edit I am trying to make are legit plz check by yourself and move the page to AI Dreams and King koil is no more and Acquired by AI Dream Director manik singh (talk) 17:36, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I already Created Submitted the content in Talk Page You can check Director manik singh (talk) 17:57, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Director manik singh: I requested a revert of your page move. See the comment I left on your Talk page. Such a move and the revisions you made to this article should be discussed and a consensus reached. The India operation is discussed in the body of the article, but the company was founded in the United States and its original name should be reflected in the article about the original company in its title as the article reflects its history regardless of its acquisition and current ownership. You may wish to draft a brand-new article about "KingKoil.in" instead of hijacking the existing article, or add more information to the existing article to reflect the acquisition. Please read the article on ownership of the content of the articles. Geoff | Who, me? 19:15, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Theodore1901 (16:32, 31 August 2024)

[edit]

Is there a standard way to properly footnote? --Theodore1901 (talk) 16:32, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Theodore1901: Yes, try this "how to" article to learn how it is done on Wikipedia, whether you are using the source editor or the visual editor. The article has a number of links at the bottom to other articles that expand on guidance for footnoting of references. Geoff | Who, me? 18:12, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Dr. William P. Harman (03:35, 3 September 2024)

[edit]

I am on the page that says William P. Harman in bold letters at the top. How do I get back to the text I was writing, and which I published. Where is it? --Dr. William P. Harman (talk) 03:35, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Dr. William P. Harman: There is only your user account page, User:Dr. William P. Harman. Other than your post to my Talk page here, your account has no saved contributions, as shown in the contributions log: Special:Contributions/Dr. William P. Harman. I gather you are trying to write an article about yourself. I encourage you to take a step back and read this article: Wikipedia:Autobiography. Writing about yourself is highly discouraged. And further, before you try writing about yourself again, consider reading this essay on what it really means to have an article on Wikipedia about you: Wikipedia:An article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing. Question from Zeusisloose417 (22:06, 5 September 2024)

[edit]

I do have one question, which is related to the county tables on election pages. I have figured out how to do them in the way that matches all of the other ones, though I feel like it takes a while. Besides the traditional way of adding data, then source editing, is there any way to do it quicker that you know of? Please let me know. --Zeusisloose417 (talk) 22:06, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Zeusisloose417: I know of no better way as I've always done it by hand, starting with the table insert button in the source editor. I recommend you use the help guides to see if you can gain some insights. Have a look at: Help:Table#Automated assistants (as well as the whole help article), Help:Introduction to tables with Wiki Markup/1 and the many links to other help articles at the top of the help article. You can also ask the group of experienced volunteers at the Teahouse: Wikipedia:Teahouse. Cheers! Geoff | Who, me? 23:26, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Majistareirter (20:15, 7 September 2024)

[edit]

Hello sir, please guide me to make necessary changes in my recent article to make it available publically --Majistareirter (talk) 20:15, 7 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Majistareiter: Please thoroughly read all the notices on your user account Talk page, User_talk:Majistareirter, as your questions are answered there. Your draft article, Draft:Harsh Satyanarayan Dhage, was reviewed and rejected for the reasons listed in the reviewer's notes. Your attempt to use your user page to publish an article was quickly and summarily deleted, as user account pages are not for publishing articles. Slow down and carefully consider the advices you have been offered. Geoff | Who, me? 20:48, 7 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Cyanochic on Epithemia (15:32, 16 September 2024)

[edit]

Hi, I'm doing more in depth edits of the page Epithemia (algal taxon that I have a lot of knowledge in) and there's taxonomic dispute of what belongs in Epithemia. Some scientists have adopted new taxonomy and others haven't. Is there an established way to work on listing species, but noting which ones are disputed as part of the genus (e.g. Epithemia gibberula, prev. Rhopalodia gibberula) or something? Thanks! --Cyanochic (talk) 15:32, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Cyanochic: Welcome to Wikipedia! Well, you could note the taxonomic dispute in each article where it applies, citing the conflicting journals, or start a discussion on the Epithemia talk page, but my guess is that you'll get more traction on the general question by discussing the relative positions reflected by current journals on the Project Algae Talk page. I see you are a member of the project. I know of no other established ways to work on listing species' taxonomies than either article-by-article or through the project. Cheers! Question from Ko aung lwin on Help:Introduction to editing with Wiki Markup/1 (14:11, 23 September 2024)

[edit]

Ko aung lwin --Ko aung lwin (talk) 14:11, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Ko aung Iwin: Did you have a specific question? If using the source editor seems too difficult to start with, you might try using the visual editor: Help:Introduction_to_editing_with_VisualEditor/1. Geoff | Who, me? 14:18, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
