Following the elections he was appointed as Ambassador to Baghdad, Iraq. He was known as one of the architects of Baghdad Pact a.k.a CENTO later. In 1957 he was appointed as Ambassador to Karachi, Pakistan. Goksenin retired from government service in 1960. undo
