Blooded[1][2] is a 2011 documentary film about a supposed anti-hunt organisation The Real Animal League[3] and its campaign of October 2005. It was directed by Ed Boase[4], written by James Walker, and produced by Nick Ashdon.[5]
Music
The film's soundtrack was created by award-winning and Ivor Novello nominated composer Ilan Eshkeri and Jeff Toyne. The score was recorded by the London Metropolitan Orchestra at British Grove Studios and mixed by Steve McLaughlin. [citation needed]
Reception
The film has received strong reviews[6][7][8] with Nev Pierce of Empire Magazine saying it 'expertly executes' the dramatic documentary style and is 'picture-postcard beautiful and very frightening'.
Michael Deeley (producer of The Italian Job, Blade Runner and The Deer Hunter) called it 'A stunning debut and thrillingly tense - a genuine British must-see'[9]
There remains controversy surrounding the film's portrayal of events, with the Real Animal League claiming the film is 'twisted' and 'undermines [their] credibility'.[3][10]
It has been suggested (in a review on website The Film Pilgrim<ref<Bridges, Mike. "Blooded Review" The Film Pilgrim March 6, 2011</ref> and elsewhere) that there is in fact no such organization as the "Real Animal League" at all, and that the film is a hoax in the Blair Witch tradition.
