Beginning
Sundesh was established on November 19, 1993 with a view to transform lives in rural areas.In the initial stage,healthcare was the sole area of focus.However,in course of time,the organisation diversified into other areas like education, veterinary services and income generation activities.
Mode of Operation
Operations are guided by an executive council comprising members who visit villages,conduct enquiries and study the nature of thee needs of its inhabitants.Membership is open to anyone who is 18 years old or above provided he/she agrees to the terms and conditions of the organisation without discrimination on the basis of caste,creed,relegionetc.Sundesh has its own resource center Sundesh Integrated Rural Upliftment Centre (SIRUC) at village Chouna in Ghaziabad district of Indian state Uttar Pradesh.[2]
Activities
Education
Non Formal Education
The society imparts education to underprivileged children in the agegroup 6–14 through informal sessions handled by volunteers trained by the society itself.Finally,these children are linked with formal schools to continue their education.Some of its non formal education centres are located in Nidhawali, Kajiwara, Malanda, Lalpur and Dehra villages.
Adult Literacy Drive
Women in the age group 14–35 are trained in vocational courses like tailoring,food preservation and mushroom cultivation so that after the course completion,they are endowed with some means of livelihood.
Special School for Child Labour
Sundesh provides special education to child labourers (8–13 years of age) under National Child Labour Project.
Health Care
Sundesh team at Sundesh Integrated Rural Upliftment Centre(SIRUC) provide basic healthcare to villagers.
Health Awareness Programs for Adolescents
Talks on prevention,cure and control of communicable and non communicable diseases,sanitation and nutrition are held.
On July 1, 2007 it started the integrated nutritional health project with the objective of reducing child malnutrition and infant mortality rate in select districts of UttarPradesh.
Self Help Groups
In collaboration with the District Rural Development Agency,it designs poverty alleviation programs.It also promotes the formation of SHGs which are later linked to formal credit institutions that provide people with income generating assets and other means of livelihood like beekeeping,mushroom cultivation,tailoring and food preservation.[3]

CSR by Dabur Nepal Pvt.Ltd.
Medicinal Plant Project
This is aimed at providing farmers modern technology to cultivate medicinal herbs of the Himalayas. This is the only CSR project of Nepal which is green in nature.[5]
Green House Facility
Set up at Banepa,it has the capacity to produce 5–6 million saplings of medicinal plants every year. There are automatic control systems to moderate climatic conditions. This is a step in the direction of conserving biodiversity, also,generating and employment to the locals.
