Minkend (Azerbaijani: Minkənd; Armenian: Հակ, romanized: Hak) is a village in the Lachin District of Azerbaijan. The village is located on the west bank of the Hakari River and in the northern part of Lachin district, 470 km from Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
History
The village was located in the Armenian-occupied territories surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, coming under the control of ethnic Armenian forces on May 17, 1992 during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War in the early 1990s.[1][2][3]
The village subsequently became part of the self-proclaimed Republic of Artsakh as part of its Kashatagh Province.
It was returned to Azerbaijan as part of the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh ceasefire agreement.
