Kanju has been home to many prominent personalities and professional in various fields. They include three consecutive education directors of the NWFP; Mr. Abdur Rashid, Mr. Muhammad Khan and Mr. Shahi Room Khan; District Health Officer Dr. Mehmood Khan. Other well known educationist includes Professor Javed Iqbal, Professor Abdul Wadood, Professor Mian Noor Nawab, Principal Muhammad Khan, Principal Khurshid Anwar, Education Officer Fazal Rahman. Mr. Hussain Ahmad Kanju, provincial minister for IT also belongs to Kanju. There is a government High School for boys, a middle school for girls and several primary school both for boys and girls. There are a number of private schools and colleges, prominent among them are Al-Razi Public School and College,Hira School and College, Iqra School and College, Shah Public School and College etc.
