Eric Deis (born Queen Charlotte Islands, British Columbia October 3 1979) is a Canadian photographer best known for his large-scale photographs of the urban landscape.
Life
Eric Deis received his MFA from the University of California, San Diego in 2004. Deis is currently lives and works in Vancouver, B.C., where he teaches photography at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design.
Work
Deis' photographs depict how the dynamic forces of economics, privilege, and nature, shape the the urban environment. In particular, his work addresses contentious issues such as Vancouver's Downtown Eastside and the Woodward's building.
