"So, we were a pretty varied group but... boy, were we white. I think I counted maybe half a dozen non-white faces. One of those belonged to the Rational Response Squad's Greydon Square. This was the guy billed as "The Atheist Rapper". When I saw that on the program I thought, "Right, that's one event I won't be bothering with." Not because I don't like rap but because I just feared it would be... embarrassing. The atheist rapper? Please. But then I realised that in order to secure my place in the ballroom for the afternoon session I'd need to get there early. And that meant I'd need to sit through Greydon Square's set.

I'm really glad I did, because he was great. He's the real article, not some deluded teen pretending to be an atheist Kanye West. His lyrics are really sharp, witty and intelligent and he rattles them out like a pro. He only did four songs and I was astonished to find myself disappointed that he didn't have time to do ten. Greydon Square, for me, was the pleasant surprise of the whole event."

Greydon Square

Eddie Collins, also known by his stage name Greydon Square, is an American hip hop artist. Originally from Compton, California, he now resides in Phoenix, Arizona where he attends college as a physics major. His second album The Compton Effect has been recently released after much delay. His first album Absolute, is no longer available. He is an outspoken atheist, and promotes discussion on theological issues.
