Purcell's hunter slug, Chlamydephorus purcelli, is an endangered species of air-breathing land slug a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the family Rhytididae, but also sometimes placed in the family Chlamydephoridae.
(Note: Gastropod taxonomy has been actively in flux for more than half a century, and this is especially true currently, because of new research in molecular phylogeny. Because of all the on-going changes, different reliable sources can yield very different classifications.)
Distribution
This species is endemic to Table Mountain in South Africa.
Conservation status
The survival of this slug is threatened by habitat loss.
