It has been alleged on a VH1 message board that the entire show is fake and all of the cast members are actors and not who they claim to be. The claim even went so far as to claim that "New York's" real name is actually Kenya Simmons and that she is from Newark, NJ. |

I Love New York is a reality television series, airing on VH1 that stars Tiffany Pollard (better known as "New York" ) in a quest to find her true love. The series is a spin off of another relationship competition series, Flavor of Love, which featured Pollard as a finalist in two consecutive seasons.
In addition to New York herself, her mother, Michelle Patterson, persuades her to choose the right man for her. Mauricio Sanchez was New York's assistant "Chamo," but only for the first season.
