Kofi Sarkodie-Mensah is a Jamaican professional wrestler. He is best known under his ring name, Kofi Kingston. He is currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment, where a vignette has aired hyping his debut on its ECW brand.[1][2]

Career

Early career

Making his professional debut in 2005, he competed primarily in the New England area for New England Championship Wrestling and Chaotic Wrestling before signing a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment in September 2006.

Deep South Wrestling

Assigned to Deep South Wrestling, a WWE devlopmental territory based in Louisville, Kentucky, Kingston made his DSW debut loosing to Montel Vontavious Porter in a dark match on September 21, 2006. During the next few weeks he would go on a winning streak scoring victories over Big Bully Douglas, T.J. Wilson, David Heath and Claudio Castagnoli before loosing to Montel Porter in a rematch on November 2.

Kingston made his Florida Championship Wrestling debut on its premiere show,on June 26 2007, when he teamed up with Eric Perez in a tag-team match against Keith Walker and Ryklon Stephens in a losing effort.[4] Kingston made frequent appearances for FCW defeating many FCW superstars.

ECW

On December 6 2007, a vignette aired hyping Kingston's debut in ECW, and was noted how he is the only Jamaican WWE superstar.[2]
