<br>Dear Dr. Tamini,

I have previously contacted you about your web site http://www.smso.net, which uses Wikipedia content licensed under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation Licence (GFDL). I note that you are still not compliant with the terms of the licence and are still using several articles which I have written or made major contributions to. An example is http://www.smso.net/Otto_Zobel. If you do not immediately take steps to make your site compliant then I will shortly be contacting your Internet Service Provider (ISP) about this matter.

Articles (allegedly) in progress

Article additions

  • Electronic filter will require some linking. Also classification by design methodology.
  • Linear filter requires some linking. Requires some historical explanation
  • Analogue filter is just a stub
  • h-parameters and ABCD (general circuit) parameters
    • h is (V1, I2) (I1, V2)
    • ABCD is (V1, I1) (V2, -I2)
    • Equivalent circuit diagrams for these (and also Z and Y) would be good. Was there not also
    • g parameters - I seem to remember that. Also the general parameters I remember as writing
    • a11, a12 etc.

Google books - Ghosh, Smarajit, Network Theory: Analysis and Synthesis, Prentice Hall of India This book is also a good reference for m-derived and constant k filters

  • p349,p355 z-parameters, eq circuit
  • p351,p356 y-parameters, eq circuit
  • p352,p356 h-parameters, eq circuit
  • p353 ABCD-parameters
  • p371 series connection, add z-parameters
  • p372 parallel connection, add y-parameter
  • p373 series-parallel, add h-parameters
  • p570 low-pass RC and RL filter
  • p572 high-pass RC and RL filter
  • p573 band-pass RLC filter
  • p574 solved problems

Farago, PS, An Introduction to Linear Network Analysis, The English Universities Press Ltd, 1961.

Note that this book is on your shelf - not an internet source!
  • pp117-121 transform of bridge-T to lattice topology
  • pp122-127 parallel connection of 2-port network, shows need for transformer
  • p128 series connection of 2-port network
  • pp128-134 cascade cannection of 2-port network

Dear Dr. Tamimi,

I have noticed that you are making use of English Wikipedia articles as part of your website, www.smso.net. One example is http://www.smso.net/Electronic_filter, which includes material from the Wikipedia article "Electronic filter", which is located at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_filter. Wikipedia encourages the redistribution of its content. However, it is necessary to comply with the terms of our license, the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL). Failure to do so is a copyright violation. The text of the GFDL can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:GFDL . That is the only legally binding document. However, Wikipedia does offer advice about how to comply with the GFDL. This can be found in detail at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Copyrights . One of the most important steps is to mention the GFDL. At the bottom of every page that uses Wikipedia material, you should include text similar to, "This page is based on the copyrighted Wikipedia article (put article name here); it is used under the GNU Free Documentation License. You may redistribute it, verbatim or modified, providing that you comply with the terms of the GFDL." You should link the text "GNU Free Documentation License" to a copy of the text of the GFDL on your own server. Also, we strongly recommend that you link back to the original Wikipedia article; this is a means to comply with certain GFDL requirements.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Dear Dr. Tamini,

We have previously contacted you about your web site http://www.smso.net/Electronic_filter, which uses Wikipedia content licensed under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation Licence (GFDL). An example is <URL>, which is based on the Wikipedia article Electronic Filter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_filter). The text of the GFDL can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Text_of_the_GFDL . To use that content without copyright infringement you must either comply with the requirements of the GFDL or use the more convenient approximation described on the Wikipedia Copyrights page by doing both of the following:

  1. Include a readily readable link to the article in the Wikipedia from which the content came.
  2. Include a link to a copy of the GFDL on your own server.

A notice of this form is suggested, for the article called Bar:

This article is licensed under the <a href="gfdl.html">
GNU Free Documentation License</a>. It uses material from the
<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bar">Wikipedia article "Bar"</a>.

Please promptly change your site to comply with the requirements and let us know that you have done so or tell us your schedule for doing so, so that we can let the copyright holders know that no further action is necessary.

Thank you,
Spinningspark
