Jonas Grimås (born August 7, 1958) is a London based Swedish film director. He started his education at Swedish film school, the Dramatiska Institutet 1987-89, and then The Royal College of Art.
In 1988 he won the BAFTA Film Award for best short film with Artisten. He was also nominated in 1995 for best short film with Marooned.
He started out working on Swedish soap-operas but has made a name for himself making British crime dramas. He is a regular contributor to ITV’s Heartbeat having directed 22 episodes. He has also directed episodes of , Hamish Macbeth, Silent Witness and Second Sight: Kingdom of the Blind starring Clive Owen. [1]
While based in London he has taken on Swedish projects directing two Inspector Kurt Wallander films and the high profile job of turning Camilla Läckberg best-selling novels Predikanten (The Preacher) and Isprinsessan (The Ice Princess) into television among others.
