Could we create an article on this character at the end of month to see if she surives the storyline on General Hospital? Thanks. --[[User:M42380|M42380]] ([[User talk:M42380|talk]]) 19:09, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Fashion houses

I'll put together something for this as you suggest. It may take a while, as there are literally hundreds of potential sources and references, so I need to find the best, most illustrative examples. The whole problem with "haute couture" is that it is one of the most abused and most misunderstood terms in fashion. When I said it was an issue of semantics, that is part of the problem - there is a difference in fashion language between a Couture House and a Fashion House. While couture is always fashion, what is fashion is certainly not always couture, as I think you have to agree. (ie, would you consider Nike to be haute couture? Yet the term "sportswear fashion house" or "sportswear house" is often used to describe brands similar to Nike...). Anyway, I'll get back to you on this with my draft Fashion House entry. All the best, Mabalu (talk) 02:18, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I am not doubting the accuracy of your definition, but if it is indeed "one of the most abused and most misunderstood terms in fashion" then the issue of article names and redirects could go back and forth forever in the absence of references. Thanks.— TAnthonyTalk 02:25, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to come back to this again, but I think I've come up with a solution - the term should really redirect to fashion designers rather than to haute couture. I've raised this on the relevant pages, but am wondering how long it takes for the right people to see and comment - I know you Wiki editor types are probably VERY busy indeed, so I was just wondering what the timeframe I'm looking at would be. Is there anything else I need to do? Mabalu (talk) 02:01, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've updated the redirect, and added/adjusted navigational hatnotes to the articles.— TAnthonyTalk 02:21, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for doing the redirect, and sorry to have been such a pain about it at first. I should've suggested it in the first place, so I feel quite silly now. Mabalu (talk) 23:22, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Terry Finn, American actress

The edits you have made exclude internal links to the cast members who appeared in the plays, films and television programs in which Terry Finn appeared. I am not certain as to why they were removed, as external links i.e. imdb.com and ibdb.com confirm this information. I am the author of this biography and husband to Terry Finn. I am listed on Wikipedia as David Snyder aka David L. Snyder and I have not as yet added any information to my bio as published. I can assure you the information in Terry's bio is correct, yet you will have to give me some guidance as to the additional procedures that I need to perform to remove the headings that question the authenticity of this article. Best regards, David L. Snyder Buffalo15ny (talk) 06:04, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi TAnthony. Thanks for the lightning response. Your edit is fine w/ me. Here are a few suggestions. The reason I added the names of the "Merrily" cast members to Terry's bio was because I thought it was of historical interest that the majority of them were making their Broadway debuts. The fact that a number of these kids went on to success is of great interest. On 09/18/07 broadwayworld.com published the following: "...Merrily We Roll Along, one of the most adored flops Broadway has ever known". Next I would be grateful if you could instruct me on how to make a 'frame' for Terry's photograph like the one you directed me to on Bernadette Peters page (BTW: We met her backstage at Steve Sondheim's 70th Birthday Celebration at the Bowl and Terry was stunned and flattered that BP said "Hi! I remember you Gussie".) I also need instructions on how to upload a "Merrily" production still into the 'STAGE" section. I will also insert Clive Owens New York Post and/or Douglas Watts New York Daily News review quotations into the text... the only two that didn't 'trash' the show. In closing, I am in total agreement with your Frank Latimore comment now that I understand the sites 'mission'. Thanks again, David L. SnyderBuffalo15ny (talk) 21:41, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Merrily cast info re: Broadway debuts would be notable in the article about the show but not really in Terry's. The Broadway.com quote is great and should be incorporated, and I've added an infobox for the main photo. A Merrily production still may not be appropriate for use in a biographical article (assuming you or Terry don't own the rights to the image) because fair use (non-free) images are considered replaceable for identifying living people, per Wikipedia:Non-free content#Unacceptable use, Images - Item 12. It may work within the Merrily article however; I know it seems like a weird distinction, but copyrighted images can only be used under fair use if they serve the purpose of enhancing commentary in a non-decorative way, rather than showing what performers look like in their bio articles.— TAnthonyTalk 00:38, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks for the 'box'. I have uploaded a single candid snap-shot that 'landed' at File:Alvin Theatre.jpg. I wanted to insert this into "Terry Finn - Stage Career". Is that possible? Tomorrow I'll add broadway.com and quotations from "Merrily..." notices (reviews) Please advise on deleting the two boxes questioning authenticity of the contents of "Terry Finn" - American actress. Notes on content of the play vs the creative individuals involved is well understood. Next I must begin to concentrate on my Wikipedia page. Thanks once again. Please use all your skills and powers to correct my spelling, grammar and sentence structure. David L. SnyderBuffalo15ny (talk)Buffalo15ny (talk) 05:25, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Thank you very much for removing those labels from [History of graphic design]. I would appreciate your suggestions for any improvement. Please let me know if you have any comments. I need to take some break while making sure that some of the images would not be deleted during my break. Unfortunately, I am finding myself frantically speeding up in order to bring the article into some acceptable form but, the speed does not allow for any reflections and careful design. This is why your comments are appreciated very much.--Artaxerex (talk) 04:52, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
