Michael Avon Oeming (Pronounced O-Ming[citation needed]) is an American comic book artist and writer well known for his stark art style which is used for telling sophisticated and mature subject matter.
He was born in El Paso, Texas. He is a well known fan of ancient mythology, having written or drawn several projects centering on the Norse gods. He frequently collaborates with long-time friend Bryan Glass, and with Brian Michael Bendis. He is part of the M.O.B. crew of comic book creators, David Mack and Brian Bendis.
Recent projects include The Mice Templar from Image Comics which he has drawn and co-authored with Bryan J.L. Glass.[1] In an interview with comic book website Project Fanboy, Oeming confirmed that he is also working on a creator owned project, RAPTURE with writer/artist and wife Taki Soma.[2]
He's noted for his arm wrestling fund raising for the non-profit charity Hero's Initiative. Michael has recently been hired by Valve Corporation to design and develope video games and comics.
