The Pirus are a street gang originating from [[Los Angeles]], CA. They were originally a set of the [[Crips]], known as the Piru Street Boys, and wore the traditional blue attire of the [[Crips]]. But due to allies turning against them, they called a meeting on Piru Street in [[Compton]]. They also invited all the gangs who had been targeted by the [[Crips]], such as the Athens Park Boys, the L.A. Brims, the Denver Lanes, and the Bishops. After a long discussion, the Pirus broke off all connections to the Crips, and formed an alliance known as the [[Bloods]]. Since the Crips wore blue, they chose to use an opposite color, red, the color of Centennial High School in Compton. More recently, due to various conflicts with the Bloods, most of the Pirus chose to break off of the Bloods and become their own gang and wear burgundy and maroon for identification, although some sets still call themselves Bloods, such as the Avenue Pirus of [[Inglewood]].
