On April 11, 2009, the Red Team beat the White Team 21-0 at Joe Aillet Stadium with 3,042 fans in attendance. ESPN Radio's Sean Fox coached the Red Team, and Nick White, also from ESPN Radio, coached the White Team. The 2009 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs football team represents Louisiana Tech University in the college football season of 2009. LA Tech competes in the Western Athletic Conference and plays their home games at Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston, LA. The team is coached by Derek Dooley, who is in his third year with the program. Dooley's Dawgs enter the season after finishing 8-5 (5-3 WAC) in 2008, with a 17-10 victory over Northern Illinois in the Independence Bowl.
