:No response here or on the clerks mailing list. I'm going to set up a draft in my userspace so that the parties involved can see exactly what changes are being proposed, and the arbs who are voting (i.e. not me) can see the changes as well. Extremely unofficial, and please feel free to move the draft I do to somewhere else for clerks to work on. I'll link from here when I'm done. == Temporary case clerk need to cover Abd-WMC case ==

Could one of the active clerks please volunteer to cover the Abd-WMC case until the case clerk (Hersfold) is active again? Thanks. Please let me know if you need bringing up to speed, but there is a current dispute over a block carried out by WMC and a ban that may or may not be active for Abd. If order could be kept on the case pages while this is discussed, that would be helpful. Please see the proposed decision page and its talk page. Noticeboard

Clerks and trainees, please coordinate your actions through this section, so that we don't have multiple clerks working on the same cases at the same time. An IRC channel, #wikipedia-en-arbcom-clerks, and a mailing list, Clerks-l, are also available for private co-ordination and communication, although the mailing list is fairly low traffic.

Pending Requests

All work relating to pending requests on WP:RfAr.

  • The one remaining item at RFAR (case requests bit) can be removed as well. The motion relating to the Golan Heights naming dispute has passed 10/0/1. Could a clerk please archive this (both on the declined requests page and on the page for motions without a case), notify those who commented (the filer of the request has indicated the motion is acceptable), and post an announcement of the passed motion at the noticeboard (similar to how previous non-case motions have been announced), please? Thanks. A cross-post should be made to the administrators noticeboard, and although it might not be strictly in scope, I suggest WP:IPCOLL is used to centralise discussion that is needed before the RfC, including co-ordinating with the admins who volunteer, if any step forward. A cross-post to various mediation places might get some mediation-type admins interested. Carcharoth (talk) 05:42, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There are now no requests on the full requests page, so that can be considered {{Done}}.
With respect to Golan Heights, I don't see any thread on A/R with that name, so I presume that task has also been already completed by another clerk.

  • The following requests:
  • "Request for clarification: Scientology"
  • "Request for clarification: Bluemarine"
  • "Request by Grundle2600 to end topic ban"
need to be added to Template:ArbComOpenTasks.

I don't believe that the motion is passing. By my count there are 13 active arbs for this motion:

  1. Carcharoth
  2. Casliber
  3. Coren
  4. FayssalF
  5. FloNight
  6. John Vandenberg
  7. Newyorkbrad
  8. Risker
  9. Rlevse
  10. Roger Davies
  11. Stephen Bain
  12. Vassyana
  13. Wizardman

And three arbs are abstaining:

  1. Vassyana
  2. FloNight
  3. Carcharoth

That makes the majority = (13-3)/2 + 1 = 6. But only 5 arbs have voted in support of the motion, so it still needs one more support vote to pass.

For some reason I thought there were 12 arbs. Nevermind then, my mind's going I guess. Wizardman 21:18, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
With Risker's support vote, Now it passes. Wizardman 16:06, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If no one else beats me, I will get on this later tonight. Tiptoety talk 23:46, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Open Cases

All work relating to Arbitration cases already opened

Active/inactive arbitrators

This list will be used to set the number of active Arbitrators and the case majority on cases as they open. As of 9 August 2009, there are 13 active Arbitrators, and the majority is therefore 7 for all new cases (that is, those accepted after the "as of" date). See WP:AC/C/P#Calculating the majority for help. The master list is at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee#Current members.

Active (as of 9 August 2009):

  1. Carcharoth
  2. Casliber
  3. Cool Hand Luke
  4. Coren
  5. FayssalF
  6. FloNight
  7. Jayvdb
  8. Newyorkbrad
  9. Risker
  10. Rlevse
  11. Roger Davies
  12. Stephen Bain
  13. Wizardman

Away or inactive:

  1. Vassyana

Arbitrator announcements

Arbitrators, please note if you wish to declare yourself active or away/inactive, either generally or for specific cases. The clerks will update the relevant cases as needed. If you are returning, please indicate whether you wish to be: 1) Put back to active on all cases; 2) Left on inactive on all open cases, and only put to active on new cases; or 3) Left to set yourself to active on cases you wish (remember to update the majority on its /Proposed decision page).
As I'm sure the Clerks have all heard by now, within the past week, Coren, Kirill Lokshin, and Rlevse have resigned from the committee. All of them are welcome to resume their duties at any time, but at least for now all have been removed from the list of arbitrators. (However, please leave Kirill and Rlevse as active on ADHD since all the voting was finished before they resigned. Whether their votes are counted or not does not change any of the results anyway.)
Also, Vassyana and Wizardman are currently inactive/away. (Again, this does not apply to ADHD.) Newyorkbrad (talk) 02:44, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Note that Coren has now returned to active arbitrator status (except on ADHD). Newyorkbrad (talk) 13:55, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Rlevse also has returend to active duty. Has the paperwork been updated to reflect the return of both Coren and Randy ({{ACA}}, list of active arbitrators, and so on)? AGK 14:01, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion

Dibs on a case coming up

I'm pretty much in that same situation as Hersfold was. I've had a lot of absences lately (yay for summer), but I'd love to be active on a case again. hmwithτ 15:33, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Withdrawing OS candidacy

I'm not sure if this is the right place to alert you guys to this, but I wish to withdraw my candidacy for the oversight elections. I've placed archive boxes on my vote page. I'm not sure if there's anything else necessary, but if so, can the Clerks please do whatever it is? (-: Stifle (talk) 20:14, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Non-clerk help

Howdy. If any clerks need help from a non-clerk, I'm willing to help out.--Rockfang (talk) 22:03, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Draft for date delinking case proposed amendments

This is a non-arbitrator request (I'm recused in this case) asking whether it is possible to set up a draft page to lay out explicitly the changes proposed here. What I'm proposing is to have all 32 remedies from this case copied to a draft page, and then amended so that each remedy can be seen side-by-side with the proposed new wording, so that it is clear to all the parties and arbitrators what the changes entail. By my calculations, there are 20 remedies that would be changed and 12 that would be unchanged, so a draft really would help here, I think. I would be happy to help out with the layout of the page, but I think it would be best for a clerk to set this up in neutral location. Failing this, I'll set up a draft in my userspace, so I can get my head around what the changes are precisely. Carcharoth (talk) 23:49, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Draft is here. Completely unofficial, but it has helped me understand the changes being proposed, and I hope it helps the parties, clerks and arbs see what is being proposed as well. Carcharoth (talk) 23:20, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
