::As I clearly said above, I agree that the info is somewhat trivial, but there is no harm in its inclusion. The first sentence of this article states this "is a famous Druze family", and so far, the text about the Atrash family in Egypt is the only cited information which expands on that summary. (See Wikipedia:Lead section for further information). Without that, this article can be sent to Afd and deleted as entirely unsourced. :::Its really a Druze clan. I will maybe expand the article later with sources, then would it be okey to delete other useless texts in the article? And do you feel that its an Egypt-related article and part of WP Egypt? and that the category "Egyptians of Syrian descent" should be in this article? --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 12:17, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

::::I think that expanding the article with proper reliable sources is an excellent idea. No, it is not okay to delete any referenced text which you have self-determined to be "useless" -- that will require a discussion among the article editors. The members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Egypt can determine whether this article falls under their purview - if you are wondering about it, ask them. In the same way, Wikipedia:WikiProject Categories can help determine which categories are best suited for this article - again, discuss it with them. Good luck with your editing. — CactusWriter | needles 14:17, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Edit warring

Please use this article talk page to discuss changes rather than reverting each other with dubious edit summaries. It does appear that both Ashaman and Farid al-Atrash were born in Syria and came to Egypt in their childhood, so neither of you is wrong and neither entirely right. Please make an attempt to work together. Message left on both of your talk pages, otherwise you will likely end up being blocked. Jezhotwells (talk) 10:34, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to be bold and remove the nationalities from the notable members of the family section. The only ones I've left in is where it's applicable - like being a politician in Syria. Thus we don't run into any problems. If people want to see the person's exact notability, they can go to the article for that individual. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 03:25, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Atrash family in Egypt

Some text about notable Atrash family members in Egypt has been added which includes proper referencing. Although the information about their careers and burial is somewhat trivial to the overall topic, at present this is the only sourced information in the article, and there is no harm in including it. The article needs to be expanded with information and references about other notable members in Lebanon, Syria, etc. CactusWriter | needles 08:19, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have re-added useless info about specific people in the history of the clan section, why? notable people should be in the Notable members section, one explanation line after each person is enough, and then people can click on their names and read about their life storys. What does this have to do with the history of the Atrash clan?: 4 people "Fleeing the French occupation of Syria, 'Alia al-Mundhir al-Atrash, from the House of Sultan al-Atrash, and her three children, Fuad, Farid, and Amal al-Atrash (later known as Asmahan) were sponsored by Egypt's prime minister Saad Zaghloul and later became naturalized citizens.[2] After successful musical careers, Asmahan, Fuad and Farid al-Atrash were buried at the Fustat Plain in Cairo." --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 10:43, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As I clearly said above, I agree that the info is somewhat trivial, but there is no harm in its inclusion. The first sentence of this article states this "is a famous Druze family", and so far, the text about the Atrash family in Egypt is the only cited information which expands on that summary. (See Wikipedia:Lead section for further information). Without that, this article can be sent to Afd and deleted as entirely unsourced. If you wish to improve the article, than expand the history and add some references. CactusWriter | needles 11:14, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think that expanding the article with proper reliable sources is an excellent idea. No, it is not okay to delete any referenced text which you have self-determined to be "useless" -- that will require a discussion among the article editors.
