RE: you gotta love

If only they would look at some of the other nominations as well instead of just persisting with their crusade. --candlewicke 20:56, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Sonia Sotomayor (pictured) becomes the first Hispanic person to be confirmed to sit on the United States Supreme Court". "Sonia Sotomayor (pictured) becomes the first Hispanic person to actually sit on the United States Supreme Court". "Sonia Sotomayor (pictured) falls off her chair as she tries to sit on the United States Supreme Court". "Sonia Sotomayor (pictured) becomes the first Hispanic person to speak while sitting on the United States Supreme Court". "Sonia Sotomayor (pictured) becomes the first Hispanic person to complete her first day sitting on the United States Supreme Court". "The hairstyle of Sonia Sotomayor (pictured) comes under scrutiny while she sits on the United States Supreme Court". And the scary thing is all that isn't very far-fetched. Have you seen this AfD? The trouble is I never know whether to reset the clock and tidy up after the administrator or just leave it as it is. I think I'll just leave it as it is. --candlewicke 21:16, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I read this article in a newspaper at the weekend and thought it very ironic in its timing. I'm not sure what it says about significance but it puts the US and Australian Supreme Courts somewhere in the middle and (depending which way you go up or down whether more or less cases is more or less significant) either the UK and Irish Supreme Courts or Canadian and New Zealand Supreme Courts as being more important. At least from what I can interpret. But ironic timing all the same. --candlewicke 04:33, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Really? I guess I've just been taking them for granted then. It took me hours to work out to ask for those two and now I've had two more posted and the admin forgot again. I don't think I will let it bother me though. I was trying to keep it consistent with this list. You should have a list too if you have hundreds. :) --candlewicke 02:47, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Current Events Barnstar
A good time to give you one of these then. :) candlewicke 03:36, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. By the way, what do you think of Chad-Libya (August 10) and Mauritania (August 8)? They need more comments and supports and opposes, etc. but nobody seems to like the African ones. :-S --candlewicke 03:53, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

C*ns*rsh*p

Hi there. Thanks for the note of support in the discussion of censorship on main.

I find it very annoying, but I don't want to cause drama - but it's irritating me, because having those **'s on main makes it clear that we do censor, and opens up a whole can of worms for the future - back to the Muhammad cartoons controversy etc.

And I find this edit particularly ironic.  Chzz  ►  21:31, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
