Disaster City

Disaster City is an emergency situation in a fake community in College Station, Texas. Built in 1998 for $7.7 million (USD).[2] It was created by the Texas Engineering Extension Service for the purpose of urban search and rescue training. Sitting on 52 acres (210,000 m2), this community features collapsible structures that are designed to simulate various kinds of disasters and wreckage.[3] It has already hosted several military, federal, state and local search and rescue training teams.[4][5] Among those groups who have used Disaster City as a training ground are the firefighters of Sellafield in the United Kingdom.[6]
