Karthik Calling Karthik is an upcoming Hindi film, written and directed by Vijay Lalwani and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under the banner of Excel Entertainment. The film stars Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. Ram Kapoor and Shefali Shah play supporting roles in the film.[1] The film has music given by the trio Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa. The background score is composed by Midival Punditz and Karsh Kale.
Plot
Karthik Calling Karthik is the story of an introvert called Karthik, played by Farhan Akhtar, whose life changes with the help of someone who also claims to be Karthik. It is a journey of this man's victory against all odds. Deepika Padukone plays a pivotal role in the film.

Production
In an effort to prepare for his role as loner idiot aka Karthik, Farhan Akhtar isolated himself at home and school and turned off his phone.[2] He also learned to solve the Rubik's Cube, an activity which his character completes in only one try.[3] Some of the film's scenes were shot in Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
