Revision as of 07:05, 20 August 2010

Pat Riley Didn't play 22 seasons of minor league baseball!

You posted a link too a Riley who was born in NEBRASKA, it's a different Riley. Pat Riley was a professional basketball player in the NBA, and only played 2 seasons of minor league baseball! He's been an NBA coach for over 20 years!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elliott2010 (talkcontribs) 14:56, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

His father player baseball. The sentence is talking about his father. Zagalejo^^^ 17:32, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oops my bad, Im terribly sorry Zagalejo! Have a good day! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elliott2010 (talkcontribs) 23:32, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I know you're on a break and all...

And specifically because of the free agency mess, but I'd like a way to at least minimize it by having some protocol/consistency. When you're back, could you check in at WT:NBA#Solving the free agency limbo period mess? Thanks. --Mosmof (talk) 23:08, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I RUN THIS SHOW

HEY JERKOFF, DONT YOU DARE REVERT ME MESSAGES, EH? —Preceding unsigned comment added by I Run This Show (talkcontribs) 20:11, 10 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Grizz Officially Sign Tony Allen"

http://www.myfoxmemphis.com/dpp/sports/nba/grizzlies/071210_grizz-officially--sign-tony-allen I know it isn't official but it officially quotes Wallace. Let's not go overboard about this.--TM 04:26, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Crag Hodges Birthplace

I grew up with him and his family. I also went to elementary school and junior high with him and his sister. He was born in Chicago Heights Ill at Saint James Hospital as was I. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.66.238.81 (talk) 20:43, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, we really need a published source. For now, I'll just add a citation needed tag. Zagalejo^^^ 03:52, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

1966 NBA Expansion Draft FL

On behalf of WP:CHICAGO, thanks

Craig Hodges Birthplace

You needed a published source well here ya go.

The Jordan rules - Google Books Result Sam Smith - 1993 - Sports & Recreation - 384 pages In northwest Indiana, near a small town called La Porte, Craig Hodges had ... in the projects in Chicago Heights, a suburban ghetto community about forty ... books.google.com/books?isbn=0671796666... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chihgtsborn (talkcontribs) 06:50, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That doesn't actually say he was born there, though. Just that he grew up there. Zagalejo^^^ 18:46, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kobe Bryant

His page is great and the jersey sales were mentioned in his lead for awhile before someone deleted them. A players popularity is to be noted as well. Since it shows his marketability and being the face of his/her sport. If you don't like showing jersey sales thats fine but the page isn't being vandalized by showing them in the lead. So please don't make any unnecessary edits. Thank you-Lakers 2010NBAChampions (talk) 00:48, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Patterson

Most of what you restored I plan to rewrite and post again... i did not have time to source everything because I was working with an iPhone and went out of town the next day and left it at home... Im not going to be a prick and just war with you, but this article is screaming for improvement. Feedback appreciated... 72.17.234.204 (talk) 22:20, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I did restore much of what you added. However, negative information has to be sourced, per WP:BLP. Zagalejo^^^ 00:04, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

STOP REVERTING THINGS BECAUSE THEY AREN'T 'OFFICIAL'

Obviously Keith Bogans had signed, ESPN never reports false information. Why do you have to be 'that prick' who has to revert work like that? You knew he was signed, everyone did. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.13.234.137 (talk) 15:44, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Consider the case of Luther Head. First, ESPN reported this, but then the Hornets rescinded the offer.
Many things can happen before a player has officially signed with a team. Just be patient, for goodness' sake. We're not the news; we shouldn't be trying to beat NBA.com at its own game. Zagalejo^^^ 19:11, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Input Needed - Please share your thoughts on AfD:Junior College men's basketball players

Category:Junior College men's basketball players is being Nominated for Deletion. I think the category is very valid and would love for you to give your opinion as a resident basketball guru on the NBA side. You can do so here. My personal opinion is that having a list of these individuals is notable, useful and interesting and would not be captured anywhere else. Of course, I created the category too so I might be biased. I understand your reservations about doing extensive commentary at FAC. If we are making progress, I would imagine they might let this one run another 10-14 days.
