Maher Zain

Maher Zain (born 1982) is a Swedish singer and music producer of Lebanese origin. His first album 'Thank You Allah' of 13 tracks and two bonus songs was released on 1 November 2009. His debut album has reached the number 1 spot on Amazon’s World Music charts and number 9 on the R&B charts. His music videos on Youtube has collectively gained more than one million of views and he has performed at sold out concerts in Algeria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Egypt, England, France, Holland, Sweden, and the US.

Biography

Early life

Maher Zain was born on 1982 in Lebanon. His family moved to Sweden when Maher was only eight, where he continued his schooling. Maher got his first keyboard when he was only ten. He later entered university and got a Bachelors degree in Aeronautical Engineering.[1] During his teenage years, he like to spend late nights at school with his friends where they would sing, rap, compose and experiment with music in every way.[1]

Videos for 'Insha Allah', 'Palestine Will Be Free', and 'The Chosen One' have also been released and has gained in total millions of views.[7] Maher's video 'The Chosen One' is responded towards recent attacks on prophet Muhammad through cartoons and facebook [8]. The video was made to remind people about the true character of Prophet Muhammad [8].
