Nikhilesh Dutta, Barrister-at Law was "Called to the Bar” as a Member of the Honorable Society of the Inner Temple, London, UK. He is the first one to be Called as a Barrister from the prestigious Inner Temple on February 8, 1972.[1] Barrister Dutta has been practicing more than 35 years in Dhaka, Bangladesh.[2]

Mr. Dutta has started his career in the early 1970s and has been proved himself as one of the prominent leading Advocates of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He also held the post of the Deputy Attorney General for Government of Bangladesh for a good many 11years.[3] His areas of practice and experience include both civil and criminal matter. Though he started his career as a criminal litigant lawyer, Mr. Dutta chose to switch to civil practice, which includes constitutional law practice too. One of the special areas of practice that Mr. Dutta possesses is that even though he is a Hindu by birth, Mr. Dutta has vast experience in Islamic law.[4]

Mr. Dutta was born in the prestigious Hindu Zamindar family in 1939. After his Masters in Political Science from Dacca University (presently known as Dhaka University), he did his postgraduate studies in Public Administration from School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Later on he received his Barrister-at-Law degree from Inner Temple, UK.[5]
