Playing with Neurosis, Kelly plays a stock 1993 [[Gibson Guitar Corporation|Gibson]] [[Gibson Les Paul Studio|Les Paul Studio]] with the addition of a [[Seymour Duncan]] Distortion pickup. For [[amplification]] he uses a [[Marshall Amplification|Marshall]] JCM 800 head and EarCandy speaker cabinets. Musical influences

Kelly cites his own involvement with Neurosis as a central influence on his musical style. He also considers Black Flag, Pink Floyd, Die Kreuzen, Amebix, Jimi Hendrix, King Crimson, The Melvins, Celtic Frost and Hank Williams important influences.[1]
