Gorman Bechard is the author of five novels, The Second Greatest Story Ever Told (1991, Carol Publishing Group), Balls (1995, NAL), Good Neighbors (1998, Carroll & Graf), Ninth Square (2001, Forge) and Unwound (2007, Onyx, under the pseudonym Jonathan Baine).

He wrote and directed the independent films Friends (With Benefits) (2009)[1] [2] [3], You Are Alone (2006), The Kiss (2002), the horror comedy Psychos in Love (1986), as well as the award-winning short films Objects in the Mirror Are Further Than They Appear (2003)[4] and The Pretty Girl (2000)[5]. He is currently in post-production on the feature length documentary Color Me Obsessed, about the legendary rock band The Replacements.

He lives in New Haven, Connecticut.
