* (Discuss) – :Special Characters → – Per WP:CAPS ("Wikipedia avoids unnecessary capitalization") and WP:TITLE, this is a generic, common term, not a propriety or commercial term, so the article title should be downcased. Lowercase will match the formatting of related article titles. It wasn't upcased in the article text itself. I can't see a good reason to upcase the title. * (Discuss) – :Weekes → – ::It seems that this discussion has led to clarification of policy at MOS:Disambiguation — Given names or surnames and guidelines at Anthroponymy — Standards regarding "List of people…" versus "List of persons…"; and that policy for naming pages such as this is "List of people with surname <big><code>Xxxx</code></big>"; but all policies definitely were and are clear, that a list only page, like the one here, should be entitled "List of people with surname Weekes" .&nbsp; But regardless, this article is currently incorrectly named according to all the policies and guidelines and it should be moved as indicated.&nbsp;— <span class="vcard"><span class="fn nickname"><span style="white-space:nowrap;">Who R you?</span></span>&nbsp;<small>Talk</small></span> 05:17, 25 October 2011 (UTC)

* (Discuss) – :Women and governance → – This article was moved back in April to reflect the addition of three paragraphs purporting to "expand" the scope of the article to include other aspects of governance. The result was a poorly written lead and poorly written section called "Overview" being added to the rest of the article without in any way making the addition and the original article fit together. Perhaps there is somewhere in the project where the "Overview" section would make sense, but even if so, it needs serious work before being deployed there. Whether there is somewhere to put it or not, that place is not here. Perhaps it would be best to move this article back and deploy the "Women and governance" text to a new article (possibly a re-created Women in politics. * (Discuss) – :House of Stewart → – "House of Stuart" is the long-standing stable title of this article -- no surprise, that, since it's the spelling that the vast majority of English-language sources use. Whatever the merits of the "Stewart" spelling, it is not our place to decide which has become standard among historians. The recent move should be reverted until such time as a consensus is obtained in its favor. The current title is a bad one for several reasons, since it implies several misconceptions: that it was a war between the Bruces and the Irish, when it was more complex, that there was more than one war during the 1315-18 period, and that there were other Irish-Bruce wars outside this period, both incorect. I know the designation HK 4.6×30mm is not used by the C.I.P. (4,6 x 30) nor the SAAMI. Unless a proper name exists, we should describe the topic clearly and as unambiguously as possible without introducing POV, and 'incidents' does not accomplish this. 'Unrest' does. Arguments against 'unrest' seem to be based on personal impressions of the word and not the actual definition, which is spot on for this usage, i.e. "a disturbed or uneasy state: Turmoil". I would be happy to entertain alternatives, but they all are somewhat problematic. 'Split Incidents' doesn't get around the problem of vagueness, but would be suitable IF it is an accepted proper name, but I don't know that this is the case and there is no point a neologism that is so vague. 'riots in' borders on POV issues. 'bloodshed in' is an option. 'turmoil in' would be another. It has already been at 'unrest' for a week before being reverted, so it couldn't have been too bad. * (Discuss) – :Girl gamer → – I think that something along these lines might be the most sensible solution to the problems this article has faced. It's certainly not normal for an article to face multiple RfDs and a request for merge. There is obviously something about this article that bothers readers and I think that all evidence points to the title. My gut instinct is that "Wikipedia is Not Censored" and so it would be fine to leave it as is. More recently, though, I've had a change of heart. Here are my thoughts:*I'm completely against the wholesale deletion of the article because regardless of any claims of gender bias, this is a notable topic inasmuch as it is frequently discussed around the world by reliable sources.*I am also largely against making it into a subsection of "gaming" as there is quite a bit of information on this subject and the article should really be expanded.*As for the title, I have come to agree with the complainers that the term "girl gamer" is not particularly encyclopedic. It's certainly a term that is in common use and under WP:UCN this is an argument to retain the title as is. There are I think stronger arguments for changing the article's name and for making "girl gamer" a redirect here. Primary among these is that academic studies of the topic tend to prefer avoiding the term, opting instead for more gender-neutral expressions like the one offered by Knovevmber above (i.e. "Women and Gaming"). As for which is the best title, I think we should decide between the following two options based on an argument of closest consistency with other similar Wikipedia articles.**Women in video gaming - Endorsed by Jamyskis and Bletch in the first AfD, Teancum in the second, and BcRIPster in the above Merge discussion. This title mirrors the titles of articles like Women in the military and Japanese people in India**Women and video games or Gender and video gaming - Endorsed by Robofish, Claritas, Hasteur, and Buddy431 in the second AfD and DMacks, Wikivader, and Active Banana in the above Merge discussion. A title like this would mirror article titles like Black people and early Mormonism and Sexual orientation and military service.Of these two options, I think that the second would be preferable because the first is easily confused with the concept of female characters in video games. More specifically, I like the sound of "Gender and video gaming". With the ideas of merging and deleting the article off the table for now due to the AfD and Merge discussions as well as the actual merits of the topic, let's discuss a renaming of the article. -Thibbs (talk) 13:35, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

Standard English usage and nearly every reference I have ever seen in English language publications is without the diacritical marks and most searches will end up being redirected, especially when such marks are a special character that most people cannot type.from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Aviation/Style_guide#Naming_conventionsWP:AVINAMEIn general, article naming should prefer what the greatest number of English speakers would most easily recognize, with a reasonable minimum of ambiguity, while at the same time making linking to those articles easy and second nature. The names of Wikipedia articles should be optimized for readers over editors, and for a general audience over specialists. in this case WikiProject members would be considered specialists. The non-standard use of diacritical marks fails this test.I already attempted a copy-and-paste rename and undid (with help from BilCat who informed me of the new method) that when I found out that there was a better way, thus leaving a history behind on the redirect pages. In fact, the Irish government has discouraged use of this term for some time, as documented at Republic of Ireland (term). The official English-language name of the country is simply "Ireland", according to the Irish constitution (1937). "Ireland" is also the country's name as a UN member. An evidence is on her official biography at her official website here: http://www.shelly.org.il/node/2011. The decision by Vegaswikian was "No consensus".Following Vegaswikian's response today, I am making a new request. In support of this request, I wish to incorporate the positive remarks made earlier by Susan Lesch and, both earlier and in response to my Move request, by Kuralyov. The present state of play therefore seems to be, as I said today on Vegaswikian's talk page: of four contributors on the proposal that the article should be renamed "Napoleonic Code", three are in favour and they include the two who have a specialised knowledge of the subject (Kuralyov and myself), while the sole objector has been knowledgeable only about the general meaning of the word "code" and has not sustained his objection. How far an Admin should read back up a talk page, I would think is probably not something that should be set in concrete, but I would agree that there should not be an actual obligation to look outside the immediate proposal and its discussion - which why I am incorporating, by reference (to use a legal expression), the earlier discussion into this proposal.
