WSPL (1250 AM) is an American radio station licensed to serve the community of Streator, Illinois. The station is owned by The Radio Group and the broadcast license is held by Mendota Broadcasting, Inc .

The station, established in 1953 as "WIZZ", was assigned the call sign "WSPL" by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on January 5, 2001.[1][2]

Programming

WSPL broadcasts a news/talk radio format.[3] As of January 2012, local programming on WSPL includes a morning drive show hosted by David Kuharski and a tradio show called The Swap Shop. Syndicated programming includes The Dr. Joy Browne Show, The Clark Howard Show, The Dave Ramsey Show, The Daily Wrap with Michael Castner, Red Eye Radio with Eric Harley and Gary McNamara, and Wall Street Journal This Morning hosted by Gordon Deal. Sports broadcasts include Chicago White Sox baseball and Chicago Bulls basketball.[4]
