Shirish Kunder is an editor and film director in the Hindi Film Industry. He was born in Mangalore on May 24, 1973.[1][2]
Career
He graduated as an electronics engineer from SDM College of Engineering and Technology, Dharwad, Karnataka and worked for Motorola. He later entered the film industry as an editor when he edited his first movie Champion (2000).[citation needed] He rose to popularity when he edited Farah Khan's Main Hoon Na (2004).
He then turned to directing and his directorial debut was titled Jaan-E-Mann, for which he also wrote the story, screenplay and dialogues, apart from composing and editing the background music score. The film starred Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta, and was released on 20 October 2006. The film received positive reviews but was a commercial failure. He has worked on Tees Maar Khan his wife's 3rd directorial venture, the film was panned by critics but was declared a semi-hit at the box office. His next film Joker is in production, and scheduled for a 2012 release.
In 2009, it was announced that producer Sajid Nadiadwala intended to remake the film Kick with A. R. Murugadoss as director.[3] Nadiadwala received an invitation from the Korea Tourism Organization, and after his team visited South Korea in September 2011, he signed an agreement to shoot portions of this project and others in that country.[4] Salman Khan and Angela Jonsson have signed on to act in the film, with Shirish Kunder to direct rather than Murugadoss.[5]

On 9 December 2004, he married director and choreographer Farah Khan, who is eight years his senior.[6] She gave birth to their triplets, son Czar and daughters Diva and Anya, on 11 February 2008 at Mumbai's Jaslok hospital.
