Zapata County Independent School District is a public school district based in Zapata, Texas (USA). The district's boundaries parallel that of Zapata County.

In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.[1]

The Texas Education Agency's college readiness performance data shows that only 4.4% (6 out of 178 students) of the graduates of the class of 2010 of the Zapata school district met TEA's average performance criterion on SAT or ACT college admission tests.[2]
