Imagination Games is a multi-platform game company that creates, produces and distributes interactive entertainment. It has developed socially interactive games across a number of formats including traditional games and puzzles, DVD and mobile.

History

Founded 25 years ago in Adelaide, Australia, by Shane Yeend, Imagination Games (also Imagination Entertainment & Imagination International Corp) is a global game company with offices in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom and UK. Imagination pioneered the concept of “socially interactive entertainment” within the board game industry by creating the DVD game category (through patented DVDi technology, DVD Game Pro). Imagination has created, produced and distributed games in 18 languages across 45 countries. The company's products are sold in over 85,000 retailers worldwide. In 2009, Zobmondo!! Entertainment filed suit against Imagination Entertainment, claiming that Imagination’s release of Justin and Dave’s Original Would You Rather...? board game “falsely and deceptively conveys to consumers that Imagination’s game is the ‘original’ Would You Rather...? board game. Journalist - Russell Emmerson Date: March 12 2012.

SOUTH Australian entrepreneur SHANE YEEND from Imagination Games has been accused in court proceedings of threatening to kill a Victorian filmmaker and setting out to destroy his career.

Filmmaker and actor Matt Norman, whose 2008 documentary Salute (2008 film) was named best Australian documentary at the Sydney Film Festival, has lodged a $100 million statement of claim in the Victorian Supreme Court against Mr Yeend, his company Imagination Entertainment, and associate Craig Jansson and his company, Magic Sound Company.

The claim alleges that Mr Jansson divulged confidential information to Mr Yeend, who used it to threaten Mr Norman with death.

Mr Yeend is then alleged to have set out to defame Mr Norman to shared contacts - including US distributors and casting agents, which resulted in the collapse of a project and the loss of Mr Norman's home and livelihood.

The statement of claim has no information on the basis for the feud, in which Mr Norman appears to have taken out apprehended violence orders against Mr Yeend and Mr Jansson, who have taken out orders against him.

Mr Norman alleges Mr Yeend breached those orders by sending texts to a third party, claiming he would "keep Norman busy" and would "buy the plaintiff's house for shit and giggles".

Mr Jansson was going to establish a Melbourne post-production facility for Mr Norman's company in 2010 but court documents indicate the relationship turned sour, with Mr Jansson allegedly calling on the eve of the foreclosure on Mr Norman's home to threaten debilitating legal action.

"Norman, tomorrow you will lose everything and I can't wait, then when you've lost your house Shane Yeend is going to keep you in court for the rest of your life!" the statement of claim says. "Whenever you make a film he's going to make sure, like the others, it never gets seen."
