I have been involved in many things during my seven years and over 65,000 edits on Wikipedia, and I have been an administrator for over six years, but I am first and foremost a roads editor. Over the past seven years, the U.S. Roads WikiProject I founded has produced 42 FAs (and 14 TFAs), 21 A-Class articles, and 776 GAs. I am proud of the editors that I work with (who were the ones producing almost all of the above) and I am proud to be a member of the project. However, all of this has come under fire in the past few days. There is a movement that has decided to attack the project and its articles, threatening to delete many of them against the consensus of the greater community of the past seven years, and also threatening to send many of our articles to "reassessment discussions" where good articles are held to higher standards than they are at Featured article candidates. This is without regard to the hard work that my fellow editors have put into our over 10,000 articles, and without regard to the notability and quality standards that we and the greater Wikipedia site around us have operated off for over four years. This threatens to push many established editors, including myself, off the site entirely, editors who serve as administrators and who have made tens of thousands of edits to the English Wikipedia and who have served here for years. I am greatly disappointed at the calloused actions of those "auditing" our articles, and at the decision of the New York roads project to ignore the imminent threat and stay in their own bubble, while the non-New York road articles are in danger (and the New York road articles are next, if they target the entire US!) These days, I edit with a heavy heart, knowing that my work could be removed from the site within a matter of weeks.
