Psychology of Women Quarterly is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes papers in the fields of Psychology and Women's Studies. The journal's editor is Janice D. Yoder (University of Akron). It has been in publication since 1976 and is currently published by SAGE Publications.

Scope

Psychology of Women Quarterly (PWQ) is a feminist, scientific, peer-reviewed journal that publishes empirical research, critical reviews and theoretical articles that advance a field of inquiry, brief reports on timely topics, teaching briefs, and invited book reviews related to the psychology of women and gender.

For Readers

PWQ, first printed in 1976, is published by Sage and is the official journal of the Society for the Psychology of Women (SPW; Division 35 of the American Psychological Association). A full subscription to PWQ is a benefit of membership in SPW, which does not require membership in APA.

PWQ ranks 34th among psychology's 126 multidisciplinary journals and 2nd among women's studies' 38 journals with an impact factor of 1.818. PWQ receives over 200 submissions each year, maintains a 75-85% rejection rate, and averages about 60 days until a first decision is rendered. The progress of an article through peer review can be tracked by the author online.

To join our pool of over 1,000 registered peer reviewers, contact our Editorial Office. Consulting Editors are invited from this pool to join PWQ's editorial board and be recognized on the journal's masthead. All reviewers for a volume are acknowledged in the December issue.

Graduate students areencouraged to contribute reviews either in conjunction with an invited revieweror on their own as a member of our Student Advisory Board (recognized on the journal'smasthead; a term spans an academic year).

PWQ both informs teaching and inspires students' learning.
