Popcorn Time is a free software streaming video service based on BitTorrent technology, with a user interface resembling Netflix. It is available on Linux, Mac and Windows.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]

The Washington Post wrote that Popcorn Time has a slick interface and looks legitimate. It is still illegal in most parts of the world.[8]

As of 14 March 2014, the software is no longer available on the official site. A Goodbye message is displayed instead.[citation needed]
