Professional work
Harpreet Sandhu is known for donning various hats with flamboyance: actor, director, writer, producer, editor, poet, cinematographer, music director and in general film making altogether. His style of film making resembles legendary film makers like Satyajit Ray and Akira Kurosawa. Hence, he's mentioned as modern Satyajit Ray.[4][5]
Debuting in Work Weather Wife in 2014, he made a huge impact in a negative role.[6] His performances in the songs "PyarDe", "Wahgan Hawaawan", "Chann", "Gutt", "Bewafa", "Dil" incorporated a path-breaking style showcasing his storytelling excellence. After working with Bollywood Queen Alka Yagnik, he garnered a huge fan-following inspiring the new generation of actors on social media. He has acted in numerous films, both Indian and international, till date, winning awards from Switzerland, Sweden, Los Angeles and Toronto.[7][8][9][10][11][12]
His performance in the film "Work Weather Wife" and Vick Work Weather Wife, which was conceived, written, directed and edited by him, gained a cult status among the young aspiring actors and critics and was number 1 on all time performance by any Punjabi actor since Chann Pardesi.[13][14]
He dubbed Wahgan Hawaawan, in Urdu for ArtGauge Films Inc.; scripted the Urdu version of poems for Work Weather Wife.[15][16]
He has been associated with advertising since 2009 as a model, choreographer, copywriter, producer and director. He constantly changes his styles and appearance and bedazzles live, film, and TV audiences with his brand of uproarious humour while maintaining a non-controversial and squeaky-clean image.[17]
Film background
Born in Rurka Kalan, Punjab, India and spent the early part of his life living in a remote village. He is a post-graduate of Khalsa College, Amritsar and he trained under well known actress from Hollywood "Debra Podowski" in Vancouver, BC.[18][19]
Harpreet has worked in numerous American films and also has produced and directed films under his studio ArtGauge Films Inc. He won 2011, Los Angeles Reel Film Festival, Honorable mention and 2011, Los Angeles movie awards, Award of Excellence for Judaaiyaan: The Separation.[20][21][22][23]
He has recently been active in Punjabi cinema.[24]
